U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced a new wave of arrests involving what the agency called “the worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens, highlighting offenders convicted of sexual crimes, violent assaults, and homicide. The latest enforcement action again underscores ICE’s focus on removing dangerous individuals amid ongoing concerns about public safety and the impact of illegal migration.
Federal officials emphasized the scale of the threat posed by repeat offenders who remained in American communities due to years of lax enforcement and sanctuary policies. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said Uzeta’s case demonstrates how illegal aliens can exploit vulnerable Americans. “For 20 years, Uzeta preyed on vulnerable Americans, charging for dental procedures he had absolutely no business of performing. Worse, he sexually violated one of his patients who trusted him,” McLaughlin said. She added that ICE officers also arrested “child predators, murderers, and violent assailants,” all of whom will face removal.
McLaughlin further criticized sanctuary policies in states such as Minnesota, saying they allowed “pedophiles, domestic terrorists, and gang members to roam the streets and terrorize Americans” while ICE officers “risk their lives to protect Minnesotans.”
Below are five of the most serious offenders arrested:
Jose Alfredo Uzeta – Mexico
Uzeta, a criminal illegal alien, was convicted in Harris County, Texas, for unlawfully performing dental procedures without a license and for indecent assault after a patient reported that he groped her during a procedure.
Mahmoud Telfah – Jordan
Telfah was convicted in Albuquerque, N.M., for child solicitation and attempting to sexually exploit a minor after he arranged to meet a 15-year-old who was actually an undercover agent.
Hamidou Diallo – Mali
Diallo, a criminal illegal alien from Mali, was convicted of murder in New York City and was taken into custody as part of ICE’s targeted enforcement actions.
Santos Guevara-Carrero – El Salvador
Guevara-Carrero was convicted of manslaughter in Mineola, N.Y., and identified by ICE as a significant public safety threat.
Sahal Osman Shidane – Somalia
Shidane, a criminal illegal alien from Somalia, was convicted of criminal sexual conduct involving a minor between the ages of 13 and 15.
ICE officials said these arrests reflect ongoing efforts to locate, arrest, and remove dangerous offenders whose continued presence has been enabled by sanctuary jurisdictions. The agency stressed that regardless of local political resistance, ICE will continue prioritizing the apprehension of violent criminal illegal aliens to protect American communities.
