A Mexican national who ignored a federal deportation order for more than a decade has been arrested for yet another fatal DUI crash in California.
Police arrested Humberto Munoz Gatica, a Mexican illegal alien, on Friday in Orange County, Calif. Gatica faces charges of DUI causing death or bodily injury and hit-and-run causing death or bodily injury.

He had an active deportation order since 2012, and he pleaded guilty to grand theft in 2011. He was released under the Obama administration with a notice to appear in court but never did. Instead, he walked free until his past finally caught up with him last week.
The DUI hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a 71-year-old man who was walking in Dana Point, Calif., when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and found 71-year-old Barry William Tutt of La Verne critically injured. First responders transported Tutt to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries, The Orange County Register reported.
The initial report involved a vehicle-pedestrian accident near Pacific Coast Highway and Dana Point Harbor Drive. Witnesses told police a silver Ford sedan struck Tutt and then fled the scene, the department said.
Deputies were able to identify the driver, Munoz Gatica, 57, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and arrested him. He was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of DUI and charges related to the hit-and-run.
Federal law enforcement sources told Fox News Digital that Gatica was first arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2011 for being in the country illegally.
Gatica has a criminal history dating back to 2011, when he was arrested on a robbery charge in Orange County. He later pleaded to grand theft as part of a plea deal.
He ignored a notice to appear in immigration court following his release under Obama, prompting a federal immigration judge to order his deportation in absentia in 2012.
Gatica has remained an ICE fugitive since that ruling, officials said, and remained living in California.
The illegal alien-linked traffic fatalities continue to make headlines in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s sanctuary state of California. But Newsom is pushing back against immigration enforcement.
Instead, Newsom is too busy taking jabs at the Trump administration and focusing on his clean energy agenda and more failed initiatives, ranging from clearing homeless encampments on state rights-of-way to sharing videos that downplay the slow-moving progress to rebuild the Palisades and Altadena communities.

On Oct. 21, an Indian national driving an 18-wheeler, Jashanpreet Singh, killed three in a fiery crash on Interstate 10 in Southern California.
His semi-truck plowed into several cars on the highway and dashcam footage shows he did not attempt to stop. He was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of a drug causing injury.
In a third recent incident, another illegal alien from Mexico is accused of driving drunk and fleeing the scene after an Oct. 10 crash. The accident critically injured a boy on a bicycle in Southern California. The victim died two weeks later at the hospital.
Jose Abelardo Villegas-Orbe, 47, of Palm Springs, Calif., had two previous DUI arrests in California, but there was no effort made to deport Villegas-Orbe after the arrests. He remained in the country due to the Biden administration’s lenient immigration policies.
Once apprehended, Villegas-Orbe was charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI hit-and-run causing death plus a probation violation.
The victim, Liam Cantu, 14, suffered serious injuries that required emergency brain surgery. Cantu was struck by Villegas-Orbe while riding his bicycle with another teen on Highway 111 in La Quinta, Calif., local outlet KESQ News Channel 3 reported.
In Texas, ICE is able to enforce the law and remove illegal aliens accused of other hit-and-run accidents thanks to local jurisdictions honoring ICE detainers.
ICE shared on social media that Mexican criminal illegal alien Jesus Juarez Legura has multiple DUI convictions, a pending hit-and-run charge and a prior removal on his rap sheet.
