Federal immigration officials say a man accused of using a vehicle to ram law enforcement officers during an attempted arrest in Vermont remains at large following the incident earlier this month.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were conducting a targeted vehicle stop on March 11 in Burlington, Vermont, when the suspect allegedly drove his vehicle into law enforcement personnel during the attempted arrest.
Officials identified the suspect as Deyvi Daniel Corona-Sanchez, a Mexican national who authorities say has prior charges for criminal trespassing and driving under the influence.
Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis of the Department of Homeland Security said officers attempted to arrest Corona-Sanchez during the operation when the incident occurred.
“On March 11, 2026, ICE conducted a targeted vehicle stop to arrest Deyvi Daniel Corona-Sanchez,” Bis said in a statement released by the Department of Homeland Security. “During the attempted arrest, Corona-Sanchez weaponized his vehicle and rammed our ICE law enforcement officers. He fled on foot into a nearby residence and remains at-large.”
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene after the incident and has not yet been located.
According to federal officials, Corona-Sanchez previously entered the United States illegally in 2021 and was removed in 2022. Officials said he later reentered the United States illegally at an unknown date and location.
The Department of Homeland Security said the suspect also previously faced charges related to criminal trespassing and driving under the influence.
Federal officials are asking members of the public to contact immigration authorities if they have information regarding Corona-Sanchez’s location.
Authorities said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing as federal officials continue efforts to locate the suspect.
