A father and son were arrested last week at the Laredo, Texas, border for allegedly attempting to smuggle 400 firearms into Mexico.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection discovered the firearms and ammo in false walls of trailers towed by Emilio Ramirez-Cortez and his son, Edgar Ramirez-Diaz, Fox News reported. Ramirez-Cortez is a lawful U.S. resident and Ramirez-Diaz is a U.S. citizen.

“Agents said they noticed irregularities in the trailer walls,” Fox News reported.
Pictures obtained by Fox News show the weapons packed against the front walls of the box trailers.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations arrested the duo following an investigation and face federal firearms smuggling charges, the report said.
“And another example of how nations working together deliver results for the people,” U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson said in a post on X. “U.S. authorities seized 400 firearms bound for Mexico — and arrested those responsible. Weapons that will not reach criminal hands. Shared security in action. Delivering results.”
