Marvin Moreno

Marvin Moreno/El Salvador/Amphetamine Distribution, Counterfeiting, Stolen Vehicle

by G. George | July 07, 2026

Salvadoran national Marvin Moreno was arrested in Elk River, Minnesota, after authorities tied him to an amphetamine‑distribution case, counterfeit financial documents, and a stolen vehicle. Investigators allege that Moreno sold amphetamine in quantities consistent with trafficking, while also using or possessing counterfeit checks or similar forged instruments as part of his criminal activity. During the same investigation, officers linked him to a vehicle later confirmed as stolen, adding another felony‑level allegation to the case.

Following the Elk River arrest, officials also alleged that Moreno had previously been removed from the United States and then returned without authorization, leading to an illegal reentry allegation alongside the drug, counterfeiting, and stolen‑vehicle counts. Because of the combination of narcotics, financial‑fraud, and property‑crime accusations, paired with the immigration violation, prosecutors moved to keep him in custody while they prepare formal charges and present the case in federal court.
